Code of Conduct
To facilitate the goals and purpose of the club, each member of the club shall act in accordance with the following code of conduct. Any violation of listed code may be cause for dismissal from the club, following a review by the club officers and/or board of directors and in accordance with article 3 section 5 of the by-laws.
Each member will never allow personal feelings to deter them from their responsibilities as an officer, director or member of the club.
Each member will at all times respect the property and rights of all people, the laws of the community and country, and the chosen way of life of fellow citizens.
Each member participating at shows and displays shall wear clothing that is appropriate and theme-oriented. Inappropriate clothing would include ragged or heavily soiled pants and shirts and any clothing considered unsafe for the operation of machinery.
The use of improper language or unbecoming behavior will not be tolerated.
Continued offenses will be grounds for suspension or dismissal from the club as outlined in the by-laws.
Members shall strive to show an example of safety and proper operation of any and all equipment at all club-sponsored events or as a participant of public events.
Members shall not participate in any club-sponsored events while intoxicated or under the influence of any illegal or prescribed drug.
SAFETY RULES
All exhibitors and operators of equipment at FRAPA events and shows are expected to comply with the following basic rules regarding safety. A safety meeting shall be held prior to each event by the appointed safety personnel.
STATIONARY ENGINES and all engine driven equipment:
All engine driven displays must be fenced, with displays a minimum of 3 feet or what is deemed a safe distance inside the barrier.
Do not allow spectators inside the fenced area.
Keep gasoline only in approved safety containers.
Do not fill the tank of a running engine, or when engine is hot.
Do not smoke while filling a tank.
Each display will have a fire extinguisher readily available.
Do not leave a running exhibit unattended.
RPM’s of all stationary engines must be kept at a reasonable level. Any engine deemed to not be running at a reasonable level will be shut down by the safety officer.
Do not allow a non FRAPA member to maintain/supervise any exhibit in your absence.
Park in designated areas only.
TRACTORS and associated equipment:
MINIMUM DRIVING AGE: No person under the age of fourteen (14) years of age may operate any engine driven equipment. No exceptions please.
All drivers must operate tractors in what is deemed by FRAPA officials, in a safe and reasonable manner. PLEASE drive slowly and carefully, exercise common sense.
Keep gasoline only in approved safety containers.
Do not fill the tank of a running engine, or while the engine is hot.
Do not smoke while filling the tank.
Do not leave a running tractor unattended or be operated by a non FRAPA member.
Keep spectators a safe distance from your tractor while it is running, spinning fan blades are invisible.
Before starting a tractor, check the clutch, brakes, throttle and gearshift in neutral.
If your tractor has an ignition switch, remove the key when you park it or leave it.
If your tractor has hydraulic attachments, lower the attachment to ground level when you park it.
Always leave the PTO shaft disengaged when not in use.
Park in designated areas only.
All hayride trailers must have a minimum of 30 inches high side rails, safety chains, proper ball size, or pin hitch with clip.
All tractors pulling a hayride trailer must have good working brakes.
All tractors must be of a size to pull and stop the hayride trailer safely.
No riding of other individuals other then the driver, unless the tractor has an approved buddy or parade seat.
A maximum speed limit of 5 MPH must be observed on the show grounds at all times when operating tractors and/or other vehicles.
If a second FRAPA member is available to assist with loading and unloading the driver may not leave the loading area until an all clear is given.
BARREL TRAIN RIDES:
All barrel train ride must be operated in a safe and sensible manner.
All riders must be seated and remain seated during the ride.
If a second FRAPA member is available to assist with loading and unloading the driver may not leave the loading area until an all clear is given.
Do not leave an unattended running garden tractor.
Do not travel over uneven and rough terrain.
STEAM POWERED DISPLAYS:
Exhibitors of all steam powered equipment must have a current valid boiler inspection certificate issued by the state in which the show is located DISPLAYED ON OR WITH THE EQUIPMENT at the show.
